Fantastic Four Tops Second Weekend Box Office as New Releases Surge
The box office saw a strong second weekend for Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which brought in $158.3 million by the end of its first week. With an estimated $7.4 million on Thursday alone, the film is on track to earn between $45 million and $47 million over the weekend. Although this represents a 61% drop from its opening, the film still dominates with all premium screens locked in.
‘The Bad Guys 2’ Outpaces Its Predecessor
DreamWorks Animation and Universal’s The Bad Guys 2 pulled in $2.25 million from Thursday previews that began at 2 p.m., a significant increase over the original film’s $1.15 million in 2022. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 85%, the sequel is off to a promising start.
‘The Naked Gun’ Reboot Opens with Solid Numbers

Paramount’s reboot of the 1980s comedy classic The Naked Gun earned $1.6 million during its Thursday previews starting at 7 p.m. While comedy previews are traditionally hard to gauge, this number puts it close to Sony’s No Hard Feelings, which brought in $2.15 million on its Thursday preview in 2023 and led to a $15 million weekend.
Neon’s ‘Together’ Builds Momentum
Neon’s wide release of Together, a romantic horror film starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie, earned $1.35 million in its second day, pushing its cumulative gross to $4 million. The five-day projection stands at $8–10 million, solid for a film acquired for $16 million out of Sundance.
